Microsoft has announced a new tablet by name Surface tablet. This tablet has not been released in to the market but just its specs are announced. The price and release date of this tablet are also not announced. This tablet will be offered in two variants which differ in their operating system. First one runs on Windows RT and the second one runs on Windows 8 Pro operating system.
Surface Tablet (Windows RT):
This version of Surface tablet will run on Windows RT operating system. It weighs 676 grams. It has got thickness of 9.3mm. it is provided with 10.6 inches Clear Type HD Display. Battery provided on this tablet is 31.5 Watt hour capacity. For connectivity options, this tablet is having ports like 2 x 2 MIMIQ Antenna, micro HD video and USB v2.0 ports .Memory of Surface tablet can be expanded using micro SD card slot. This tablet will be offered in 32 GB and 64 GB variants. It has got Vapor Mg cases and stand. Windows RT running Surface tablet features touch cover, type cover and comes with Office Home & Student 2013 RT.
Surface Tablet (Windows 8 Pro):
Weight of this version of Surface Tablet is given as 903 grams. It runs on Windows 8 Pro operating system. It has got thickness of 13.5mm. Screen size of this tablet is 10.6 inches and is provided with clear type full HD display. This version tablet is provided with battery of 42 Watt hour capacity. Touch cover, pen with palm block and type cover are provided with this tablet. This tablet comes coupled with Vapor Mg cases and stands. Surface tablet running on Windows 8 Pro operating system will be offered in 64 GB and 128 GB versions. It has got USB v3.0 for connectivity. It is also provided with mini display port video. 2×2 MIMO antennae are seen on this tablet. Surface tablet has got support for micro SDXC card slot for memory expansion.
Surface Tablet from Microsoft is the first tablet from Microsoft Company and is expected to give good competition to the New iPad tablet released in to the market by Apple.
